Buying Tip

How to pick a great agent

Buying a home can be a complicated and stressful experience. There can be a lot of moving parts that need to be managed. Having a great real estate agent is critical.  Choose a full-time agent that has great relationships with lenders, title and attorneys. Their experiences will only help you as a buyer.

You Like Being Around Them

You will spend a lot of time communicating with your agent, so the relationship needs to be a good one to help make the experience as painless as possible. There’s nothing worse than dealing with a person who you don’t like being around, especially if the going gets rough. Maggie will make the experience fun-she has your back and will negotiate for you intently. Plus, you will get an Interior Designer as part of her service to you when buying a home.

Responsive and available

This point is non-negotiable. A good real estate agent will make themselves available to you and won’t leave you hanging when you’re waiting for a response. The right agent understands how important and serious a real estate transaction is and will always make sure to make your needs a priority. Maggie will respond immediately.  A consistent review from former and current clients is that Maggie is an amazing communicator and will get back to her clients asap.

Proactive and Honest

Maggie will listen to what you say you want in a home and what you haven’t said. The journalist in her can’t help it. This is a huge benefit in working with Maggie.  She'll be honest if you are searching for a unicorn and she'll guide you back to reality. When you are buying, she will be looking at what your someday re-sale will be and she’ll give you great ideas to build some sweat equity in this new home.

Relationship is lifelong

One of the best signs that you’ve picked the right agent actually occurs either before or after you work with them on a deal. Even though real estate is transactional, the best agents look to build a relationship with their clients instead of just working with them on a deal and then disappearing. Maggie will stay in touch, be a constant resource, and is in it with you for the long-haul. Maggie has clients that continue to work with her for years. 95% of her business is based on client referrals.

Doesn't Give Up

The right agent doesn’t give up, and will uncover a way to keep things moving, even if it takes some creativity. The right agent fights for you and doesn’t throw in the towel after getting jabbed. Maggie is not a quitter. She will make sure all parts of the transaction are moving forward to the end goal of closing.
Whether it’s your first home or if you’re an experienced buyer, purchasing a home is a complex process. By working with me, you’ll find a home in the neighborhood where you want to live, one that fits your budget and meets your goals for features, quality and value. Once you’ve found the home that’s right for you, I will guide you through the process of making an offer; negotiating the terms of the sale; getting your potential purchase inspected, repaired and appraised; and closing the sale.
